A woman with a pink heart 🩷
I’m just a woman
with a pink heart.
A little dreamy,
a little curious,
a little too sensitive sometimes.
And I have no intention of trying to change this.
I’m made of hopes and disappointments,
courage and fears,
sunshine and storms…
and somehow they’ve all learned
to share the same heart.
I’m still the woman who laughs like a child
at funny things cats do,
smiles when the sun comes out,
gets genuinely upset
when she realises she’s missed the full moon.
And can find beauty
in the smallest, most ordinary things.
I cry at love stories
and I find it impossible not to feel
someone else’s sadness.
I have a particularly soft spot
for people without a home,
for gentle souls,
and for those who are kind
when nobody is watching.
I’m afraid of deep water,
of losing the people I love
and of a few other things
I probably won’t admit quite so easily.
I’ve been let down enough to know
that not everyone has good intentions,
but somehow,
I still hope that most people
have a good heart deep inside.
I believe in kindness,
in the healing power of human touch,
in laughing until your belly hurts
and in beautiful connections
that find us when we aren’t even looking for them.
I believe that the soul
doesn’t end where the body does.
And yes, despite everything,
I still believe in love.
Maybe that makes me a little foolish.
Or maybe it simply means
life hasn’t managed to make me completely cynical yet,
just enough to teach me
to protect my heart
without closing it.
I know the world isn’t pink.
I know life can be messy,
people complicated
and everything we see and touch
is only ours for a while.
But knowing that
doesn’t mean I have to become hard.
So here I am,
still curious,
still laughing,
still feeling too much,
still hoping,
still loving…
Just a woman
with a pink heart. 🩷
where love doesn’t end.
Love,
