Taking the reins back
Many of my guests tell me after our session that it feels as if all their stress has simply disappeared. The emails, the deadlines, the long list of responsibilities are still waiting for them, yet for that moment it is as though they are gone. The outside world has not changed, but something inside has shifted.
I feel this has to do with the nervous system, with the way a few moments of deep rest can bring the body back into balance. When you receive fully, when you are present in your body and the mind is given permission to be still, something softens. We may know this in theory, but when we experience it, the impact is different and it becomes real.
It feels as though you discover a stillness inside yourself, a centre that holds steady no matter what is moving around you. You become the centre of your life, not swept away by everything that demands your attention. It is a little like riding a horse. At times it feels as if the horse is galloping over you, dragging you with it, yet when you take the reins and sit deeply in the saddle, the steadiness returns. You become the master and you guide the horse, rather than being carried off by it.
Many of my guests describe a tantric massage as a reset. Once they have touched that stillness, they know what it feels like, and it can be reawakened again and again. Some also tell me they feel waves of happiness washing over them during a session. These feelings arise naturally once the body has softened and the mind has let go. I often think of them as the body’s way of cleansing itself, as if joy is flowing through, washing away what has been heavy. Relaxation does not only release stress, it also opens the door to pleasure, to warmth, to a sense of being fully alive.
Tantric massage is one way to enter this space. Through conscious touch, through an environment created for deep relaxation, through the gentle awakening of s*exual energy, the body is guided into calm. Stress does not vanish forever, life does not pause, yet there can be a moment of clarity where the reins return to your hands. You meet yourself in stillness, and from there you ride forward with more confidence.
Of course, this stillness can be found in other ways too. Through meditation, through immersing yourself in something creative, through moments of deeply connected intimacy. There are many doors, but for me, touch is one of the most accessible. The body longs to feel safe, to be soothed, to be reminded of its own rhythm, and tantric massage offers this in a very direct and embodied way.
This is how a session can help with stress. It does not erase life’s challenges, but it gives you space to find yourself again in the middle of them. It shows you the stillness that has always been inside, waiting to be remembered. And you pick up the reins again and ride your horse.
Love,
